MARC MARQUEZ WORLD CHAMPION MOTOGP 2016

MOTEGI, TOCHIGI PREF. – Honda’s Marc Marquez won the Japanese Grand Prix and MotoGP riders’ championship on Sunday as both his Yamaha-riding world title rivals Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo crashed out, handing the Spaniard his third crown in the premier class.

The win at Motegi Twin Ring is Marquez’s first top-class race win in Japan, but the bigger story is Marquez winning his fifth Grand Prix title — adding his three MotoGP class wins to one in Moto2 and one in 125cc — and all on a Honda bike that is regarded as both difficult to ride and underpowered.

Ducati’s Andrea Dovizioso and Suzuki’s Maverick Vinales finished second and third, respectively.

“Honestly, it is an amazing feeling because I didn’t expect before the race to win here, it would have been impossible, but then when Rossi went out I say okay, I push 100 percent and go for the victory,” said Marquez, who adds the title to his 2013 and 2014 MotoGP championships.

“I was pushing, pushing but after some laps I see on the pit board that Lorenzo is out and that lap, honestly, I made mistakes in maybe four or five corners . . . because it was so difficult to concentrate.

“But now I’m really happy, it is really special after last year’s season to come back to the top, in Motegi.”

After falling to second from the start, Marquez was quickly able to work his way to the front on the second lap, overtaking the fast-starting Lorenzo and building a gap.

Nine-time world champion Rossi followed Marquez past his teammate Lorenzo but almost immediately threw his bike down the road and into the gravel, leaving both his race and riders’ championship challenge in the dust.

After Rossi’s fall, Marquez was able to build a large lead over Lorenzo, who was struggling badly with the aftermath of a huge crash on Saturday. Lorenzo had to switch his focus to staying in the top-three — had he dropped to fourth or lower it would have handed the championship to Marquez.

However, Lorenzo had a similar crash to his teammate, losing the front end and ending in the gravel to hand Marquez the title.

The highlight on the day for Japan was the effort of Hiroki Ono, who converted his first career pole position into a career-best race result when he finished third in Moto3.

The rider from Nara Prefecture crossed the line on his Honda just 2.654 seconds behind race winner and fellow Honda rider Enea Bastianini, who beat recently crowned world champion KTM rider Brad Binder by half a bike-length.

For Ono, the result is by far his best in Grand Prix racing, improving on his previous top result, which was sixth, but it almost did not happen when he touched Andrea Migno on the final lap, sending the Italian crashing out of the race.

KABAR DARI TOL TRANS JAWA.

Presiden Joko Widodo (Jokowi) akan terus memantau perkembangan proyek Jalan Tol Trans Jawa termasuk ruas Solo-Ngawi dan Ngawi-Kertosono. Presiden Jokowi setelah tiba di Provinsi Jawa Tengah dari Kalimantan Barat sekitar pukul 14.21 WIB, langsung menuju lokasi Jalan Tol Solo-Kertosono di Desa Waru, Kecamatan Kebakkramat, Kabupaten Karanganyar, Sabtu (15/10).

"Perkembangannya akan saya ikuti terus. Kami harapkan dari barat sampai ke timur di Pulau Jawa ini kurang lebih nanti 2019 sudah tersambung semuanya, insya Allah. Kurang lebih ada 1.200 kilometer," kata Presiden.

Dalam kunjungannya itu, Presiden mengawasi dan memantau sendiri perkembangan pembangunan salah satu proyek infrastruktur andalan pemerintah tersebut. Acara peninjauan di Kilometer 23 Tol Solo-Kertosono tersebut sekaligus mengakhiri rangkaian kunjungan kerja Presiden pada Sabtu ini.

"Saya ke sini dalam rangka melihat perkembangan dari pembangunan jalan tol di seluruh Jawa. Kebetulan pada hari ini, saya ingin melihat perkembangan yang Semarang-Solo, Solo-Ngawi, dan Ngawi-Tertosono," kata Presiden kepada para pewarta yang meliput peninjauan tersebut.

Menurut Presiden, pembangunan jalan tol yang tergabung dalam jaringan Trans Jawa tersebut tidak menemui hambatan yang berarti dan diperkirakan akan selesai tepat pada waktunya. Untuk ruas Jalan Tol Semarang-Solo diharapkan akan selesai pada Mei 2018.

Sementara untuk ruas jalan tol yang menghubungkan Solo hingga Ngawi diperkirakan akan selesai pada Oktober 2017. Adapun ruas Ngawi sampai Kertosono akan diselesaikan pada 2018. Pembangunan jaringan jalan tol tersebut bertujuan untuk meningkatkan aksesibilitas dan kapasitas jaringan jalan dalam melayani lalu lintas di koridor Jawa.

Thailand Berduka Satu Tahun

Penduduk Thailand tengah berduka. Sang Raja yang sangat dicintai yakni Bhumibol Adulyadej dinyatakan meninggal dunia. Pemimpin kerajaan terlama di dunia itu meninggal di usia 88 tahun setelah tujuh dekade lamanya jadi raja Thailand. Mari kita kenang kisah hidup pria yang menjadi raja Thailand di usia 18 tahun itu.

Sudah jadi rahasia umum kalau Raja Bhumibol begitu dihormati oleh warga Thailand. Namun masalah kesehatan yang memburuk membuat Bhumibol dalam beberapa tahun terakhir mengurangi penampilannya di depan publik. Meskipun begitu Bhumibol dikenal sebagai sosok yang mampu menstabilkan kondisi politik dan keamanan Thailand.

Dan seperti selayaknya manusia biasa, sang Raja pun menuju akhir hidupnya. Setelah dua hari spekulasi dan rumor beredar mengenai kesehatan Bhumibol, pihak istana akhirnya memberi pengumuman pada Kamis (13/10) malam kemarin. "Yang Mulia meninggal dunia di rumah sakit Siriraj dengan damai. Beliau meninggal pada pukul 15.52 waktu setempat."

Kehilangan luar biasa atas kematian Raja Bhumibol membuat Thailand berkabung. Lewat pidato nasional, Perdana Menteri Prayun Chan menyebut kalau Thailand akan mengadakan masa berduka selama satu tahun dengan mengibarkan bendera setengah tiang. Selain itu, industri entertainment diminta lebih peka selama satu bulan setelah kematian Raja Bhumibol, seperti dilansir BBC.

Pihak istana menambahkan kalau ada banyak sekali warga Thailand yang menanti dengan begitu sedih di luar rumah sakit Siriraj. Jenazah Raja Bhumibol akan dipindahkan ke Kuil Emerald Buddha di Bangkok pada Jumat (14/10) hari ini. Ribuan orang yang menanti pun menangis sambil berteriak, 'Bagaimana nasib Thailand tanpamu, Raja?' dan 'Aku kehilangan salah satu orang terpenting dalam hidupku. Aku merasa belum melakukan apapun untuknya'.

Bukan hanya warga Thailand yang berkabung, kematian Raja Bhumibol juga jadi perhatian pemimpin dunia. Salah satunya adalah Presiden Barack Obama yang berpendapat, "Aku mendapat kehormatan menyebut Yang Mulia Raja saat berkunjung ke Thailand tahun 2012 lalu. Operasi Tangkap Tangan Kemenhub (OTT) Berantas Pungli

— Polisi melakukan operasi tangkap tangan di Kantor Kementerian Perhubungan (Kemenhub), Jakarta Pusat. Operasi ini diduga terkait pungutan liar (pungli) perizinan yang dilakukan oknum di kementerian tersebut.

Kabid Humas Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Awi Setiyono mengatakan, operasi ini dilakukan pada Selasa (11/10/2016) sekitar pukul 15.00 WIB. Operasi ini dilakukan tim gabungan dari Mabes Polri dan Polda Metro Jaya yang dipimpin langsung oleh Kapolri Jenderal Pol Tito Karnavian.

"Kami telah melakukan OTT di Kemenhub di lantai enam dan lantai 12," ujar Awi di lokasi, Selasa.

Awi menjelaskan, di lantai enam kantor Kemenhub terdiri dari loket-loket pelayanan tempat masyarakat mengurus perizinan. Dalam OTT ini, lanjut Awi, petugas menemui praktik pungli oleh oknum petugas Kemenhub di loket Direktorat Perhubungan Laut. 

Dari lokasi itu, polisi mengamankan enam orang. Keenam orang itu terdiri dari dua orang PNS Kemenhub, satu orang pihak swasta, dan tiga orang lainnya pegawai harian lepas (PHL) Kemenhub. Dari tangan mereka, polisi menyita uang Rp 34 juta.

"Kemudian dari situ kita kembangkan bahwasanya ada aliran dana ke lantai 12, di ruangan kasi (kepala seksi) dan kasubdit. Bahwasanya uang ini mengalir kepada kasi-kasi, yang lagi kita kembangkan aliran dana itu kepada siapa saja, satu per satu akan kita selidiki," ucapnya.

Dari lantai 12, polisi mendapati uang tunai sebanyak Rp 61 juta. Selain itu, polisi juga menyita enam buku tabungan yang berisi uang Rp 1 miliar dan beberapa dokumen terkait perizinan.

Awi mengatakan belum ada tersangka yang ditetapkan dari penangkapan tersebut. Penyelidikan masih terus dilakukan. Petugas Satgas hingga saat ini pun masih memeriksa lantai 12.

Menurut Awi, operasi ini masih berkembang. Pasalnya, setiap uang suap yang disita dilengkapi dengan nama tujuan penerima. "Kami akan data satu per satu kepada siapa saja dana tersebut mengalir," katanya. 

Awi mengatakan Satgas telah menyelidiki kasus tersebut selama satu bulan dan sempat melakukan penyamaran. Penyelidikan dilakukan berdasarkan laporan masyarakat dan Menteri Perhubungan Budi Karya Sumadi. 

Dari hasil penyelidikan diketahui bahwa suap terjadi untuk mempercepat pengurusan perizinan. "Semua izin diurus online, mereka coba potong prosedur supaya bisa dapat uang," kata Awi

World Mental Health Day

The World Health Organisation recognises World Mental Health Day on 10 October every year. This year's theme set by the World Federation for Mental Health is psychological first aid and the support people can provide to those in distress.

Around 1 in 3 adults in England report having experienced at least one traumatic event.

Traumatic events can be defined as experiences that put either a person or someone close to them at risk of serious harm or death. These can include:

• road accidents
• violence/prolonged abuse
• natural disasters
• serious illnesses.

What happens when you experience a traumatic event?

When you experience a traumatic event, your body’s defences take effect and create a stress response, which may make you feel a variety of physical symptoms, behave differently and experience more intense emotions.

This fight or flight response, where your body produces chemicals which prepare your body for an emergency can lead to symptoms such as:

• raised blood pressure
• increased heart rate
• increased sweating
• reduced stomach activity (loss of appetite).

This is normal, as it’s your body’s evolutionary way of responding to an emergency, making it easier for you to fight or run away. 

Directly after the event people may also experience shock and denial. This can give way over several hours or days to a range of other feelings such as sadness, anger and guilt. Many people feel better and recover gradually.  

However, if these feelings persist, they can lead to more serious mental health problems such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and depression.

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

People experiencing PTSD can feel anxious for years after the trauma, whether or not they were physically injured.

Common symptoms of PTSD include re-experiencing the event in nightmares or flashbacks, avoiding things or places associated with the event, panic attacks, sleep disturbance and poor concentration. Depression, emotional numbing, drug or alcohol misuse and anger are also common.

The most effective therapeutic approach for long-term, severe PTSD appears to be talking treatments with a clinical psychologist, in which the person with PTSD is encouraged to talk through their experiences in detail. This may involve behavioural or cognitive therapeutic approaches. 

Antidepressants may also be prescribed to relieve the depression which people who have survived trauma often experience at the same time.

Depression

Depression is different from feeling down or sad. Someone experiencing depression will experience intense emotions of anxiety, hopelessness, negativity and helplessness, and the feelings stay with them instead of going away.

Talking therapies such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and some forms of counselling and psychotherapy work well for depression. Anti-depressants may also be recommended, either on their own or in combination with talking therapies. 

What to do after experiencing a traumatic event

Turn to others for support

It can be difficult to talk to close family or friends after a traumatic event. You may not want to cause them any distress or may simply want some space to process it all. However, it is important to be around other people when you feel able to, as they can help with your recovery and wellbeing. You do not have to talk to them about the experience. If you don’t have anyone close by to talk to, you can contact one of the organisations below, who will be able to offer further help.

Look after yourself

It is important to look after your health and wellbeing. This can include taking a break or some time away to deal with your experience. You should also try and keep a healthy diet and stay away from drugs and alcohol, which can exacerbate the problem.

Seek professional help

If you are experiencing symptoms that are affecting your day to day life, it is important to get professional help as soon as possible so you can begin to get better. You should consider seeking help if:

• you don’t have anyone to talk to
• you don’t feel like your feelings have returned to normal after 6 weeks
• someone close to you has noticed changes and is urging you to seek help
• your work or studies are affected
• you find it difficult to carry out daily tasks
• you are using drugs or alcohol to cope.

The first person to approach is your family doctor or GP. He or she should be able to give advice about treatment, and may refer you to another local professional.

Trump's Scandal

Donald Trump bragged in vulgar terms about kissing, groping and trying to have sex with women during a 2005 conversation caught on a hot microphone, saying that “when you’re a star, they let you do it,” according to a video obtained by The Washington Post. 

The video captures Trump talking with Billy Bush, then of "Access Hollywood," on a bus with the show’s name written across the side. They were arriving on the set of “Days of Our Lives” to tape a segment about Trump’s cameo on the soap opera.

Late Friday night, following sharp criticism by Republican leaders, Trump issued a short video statement saying, “I said it, I was wrong, and I apologize.” But he also called the revelation “a distraction from the issues we are facing today.” He said that his “foolish” words are much different than the words and actions of Bill Clinton, whom he accused of abusing women, and Hillary Clinton, whom he accused of having “bullied, attacked, shamed and intimidated his victims.”

“I’ve never said I’m a perfect person, nor pretended to be someone that I’m not. I’ve said and done things I regret, and the words released today on this more than a decade-old video are one of them. Anyone who knows me knows these words don’t reflect who I am,” Trump said.

In an apparent response to Republican critics asking him to drop out of the race, he said: “We will discuss this more in the coming days. See you at the debate on Sunday.”

The tape includes audio of Bush and Trump talking inside the bus, as well as audio and video once they emerge from it to begin shooting the segment.

In that audio, Trump discusses a failed attempt to seduce a woman, whose full name is not given in the video.

“I moved on her, and I failed. I’ll admit it,” Trump is heard saying. It was unclear when the events he was describing took place. The tape was recorded several months after he married his third wife, Melania.

“Whoa,” another voice said.

“I did try and f--- her. She was married,” Trump says.

Trump continues: “And I moved on her very heavily. In fact, I took her out furniture shopping. She wanted to get some furniture. I said, ‘I’ll show you where they have some nice furniture.’ "

“I moved on her like a bitch, but I couldn’t get there. And she was married,” Trump says. “Then all of a sudden I see her, she’s now got the big phony tits and everything. She’s totally changed her look.”

At that point in the audio, Trump and Bush appear to notice Arianne Zucker, the actress who is waiting to escort them into the soap-opera set.

“Your girl’s hot as s---, in the purple,” says Bush, who’s now a co-host of NBC’s “Today” show.

“Whoa!” Trump says. “Whoa!”

“I’ve got to use some Tic Tacs, just in case I start kissing her,” Trump says. “You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait.”

“And when you’re a star, they let you do it,” Trump says. “You can do anything.”

“Whatever you want,” says another voice, apparently Bush’s.

“Grab them by the p---y,” Trump says. “You can do anything.”

A spokeswoman for NBC Universal, which produces and distributes “Access Hollywood,” declined to comment.

“This was locker-room banter, a private conversation that took place many years ago. Bill Clinton has said far worse to me on the golf course — not even close,” Trump said in a statement. “I apologize if anyone was offended.”

Billy Bush, in a statement released by NBC Universal, said: “Obviously I’m embarrassed and ashamed. It’s no excuse, but this happened eleven years ago — I was younger, less mature, and acted foolishly in playing along. I’m very sorry.”

After the video appeared online Friday afternoon, Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton wrote on Twitter: “This is horrific. We cannot allow this man to become president.” Her running mate, Sen. Tim Kaine (Va.), told reporters, “It makes me sick to my stomach,” while campaigning in Las Vegas.

Planned Parenthood Action Fund, which has endorsed Clinton, issued a statement from Executive Vice President Dawn Laguens saying: “What Trump described in these tapes amounts to sexual assault.”

Trump was also criticized by members of his own party. House Speaker Paul D. Ryan, who said he is “sickened” by Trump’s comments, said the Republican presidential candidate will no longer appear with him at a campaign event in Wisconsin on Saturday.

Christian Ronaldo opens the doors of his new five-star hotel this week - and we can reveal what is inside.

The Euro 2016 and Champions League winner is currently on holiday on Ibiza, recovering from a busy season on board a private yacht.

But the Real Madrid superstar, will return to his native Funchal in Madeira for the grand opening of his boutique hotel this Friday.

It is designed to appeal to “millennial traveller”, according to the chain, with the hotel aiming to become a "trendsetter" in the Portuguese harbour spot.

The £70million Pestana CR7 portfolio will be completed by a luxury site in Lisbon that will open later this year, while sites in Madrid and New York are due to launch in 2017.

And the single CR7 suite -which costs £575-a-night - boasts a PlayStation4, virtual reality glasses and games, plus cardio workout equipment.

The hotel wellness suite even offer a CR7 “Get in Shape” programme for guests hoping to replicate a Ronaldo six-pack, accompanying its exclusive outdoor gym and sauna facilities.
